What are macros?
A macronutrient is any of the nutritional components in a diet which are required in large amounts by the human body. Proteins, Carbohydrates, and Fats are the main three we put an emphasis on. However, we do also educate you on other important aspects of your day to day diet.
When using a flexible dieting approach (as we do) you track your protein, carbohydrate, and fat intake in order to get your desired results whether that be losing weight, gaining weight, or maintaining weight. That may sound tedious but luckily there are apps such as MyFitnessPal which make the process extremely easy. The goal is to get you to the point where you no longer have to manually track everything but can eat on a day to day basis using intuition which of course will take time.
Initially, we gauge your daily values based on a few variables which you provide us within your questionnaire. However, those numbers will change according to the results we are seeing on a daily basis.
What happens once I have made the purchase?
Upon Purchase of a service, you will receive a confirmation email along with a separate email containing a questionnaire. The questionnaire is used by us to assess your situation and tailor your plan specifically for you and your preferences. Therefore it is imperative that you fill out the questionnaire as soon as possible so that we can start customizing your program(s) at the earliest possible moment. You will then receive your initial email from your coach, and all instructions thereafter will be explained by your coach.
How does the process work?
Depending on what program you choose, we are here to create and help you implement a system in order to achieve your desired goal. Programs are created to be unique to you and personalized to fit your daily lifestyle. Check-ins will be required on a weekly basis. Depending on the progress or lack thereof we will tweak and tune your program accordingly. Each week you will also receive tips and tricks learned through experience that will help you make the process easier and more enjoyable.
While doing all the above is important to your success, we believe that being there for you is just as important. That is why we are here for any questions or support you may need in between your weekly check-ins. Having trouble with what foods to eat? Do you not feel like going to the gym on a given day? Did you have a random question pop up in your head? Just contact your coach and they will get back to you with a quick response. You will be given a direct line of contact for those types of situations. We want to ensure that you reach all your goals successfully.
What are the benefits of flexible dieting?
One of the main strengths is that it doesn’t promote a narrow set of "magical foods" that happen to burn your fat cells while also feeding your muscles. Such a list would be great – if it existed. We have been lead to believe that there is a line between 'good' and 'bad' foods. While there may be foods that are better than others it is very difficult to call a particular item of food either good or bad while not taking into account if it fits within your energy balance.
Also since there is such a high degree of flexibility in terms of food choice and meal setups, it maximizes adherence to the plan. A nutrition plan is only good if one can adhere to it consistently. Flexible dieting also allows for the implementation of techniques to further help you progress (like diet breaks & re-feeds). Lastly, we love how flexible dieting (IIFYM) is deeply rooted in science rather than speculation.
What kind of adjustments are made on a weekly basis?
Adjustments are made if we see that there are areas we can improve on or if there are things you want to change for personal preference. Adjustments will be made to both training programs or nutrition plans. An example would be someone who wants to start focusing on a particular body part, so we adjust the training regimen to do so. Another example--if you aren't dropping weight in a manner we deem healthy, adjustments will be made to the diet. All adjustments are made to best fit your needs and desires.
Is a gym membership necessary?
If you chose a program that involves the programming of your workouts, it is highly recommended that you do have access to a gym or gym equipment for the best results. With that being said, if you cannot access a gym we will structure your workouts in a way to fit your accommodations. This could include workouts to do at home, in an outdoor area or with a limited amount of equipment. That will all vary on a case by case situation.
Do I need anything specifically?
All you will need is an internet connection, a body weight scale, and a food scale.
What is the former client discount?
Avita provides former clients with the opportunity to return at a reduced price. This only applies to the personalized coaching packages. We give discounts of up to 50% due to the fact that you have been taught most of the principles needed to succeed and we won't need to be as hands-on as the first go-around. Are there any sport-specific plans for athletes?
Here at Avita, we do have a strength and conditioning coach on-hand who can create a speed, agility, and sport specific strength program. What is the referral program? How does it work?
The referral program was created in order to promote and incentivize a lifestyle change amongst friends and/or family
After making a purchase simply refer a friend to Avita Fitness & Nutrition. When your friend makes a purchase you will receive a 10% rebate on your original transaction.
AFTER your friend makes their purchase, Email Support@AvitaFitness.com. The SUBJECT line should read: Referral Program and the BODY should include: a.) your friends' name b.) your friends' email.
